Breaching the language Barrier

One of the most common problem that tourist have when visiting Bangkok is the language barrier. Although there are many people in Bangkok who speak English fluent, there are even more people who can't understand the language. In order to over come language barrier and be able to navigate freely around the city, it is advisable that foreigners who do not understand or speak the local language should get a tour guide how show them around and help the communicate wit the people. A guide who speaks English is essential when you are visiting Bangkok and would want to interact with the people around.

There are many tour guides in Bangkok who speaks good English. Most of these tour guides are well educated and know the city like the back of their hand. However, there are also guides who are not so reliable so you should be very careful when choosing a guide. If you cannot afford to hire a personal guide but you want get to places in Bangkok with ease, you can always join a group tour to the city. Group tours are generally cheaper than those personalize tours although your destinations could be a bit more limited than if you have a personal tour guide. The good news about joining group tours is that you get to meet new friends along the way.

There are many hotels and resorts that arrange group tours for their guests. Inquire with your hotel if they have guided group tours. If your hotel or resort do not offer guided group tours, ask them if they know of any agency or organization, which offers group tours to the city. In most instances, hotels and resorts do have contacts with agencies offering group tours.
